The Edic-mini Tiny Solar is a great surveillance recording device that has a black box mode, which alows the internal rechargeable battery to charged and run off the solar battery. This mode allows continuous loop recording without external power supply. If you place the recorder near a window, puting the solar battery to the sun, the spy voice recorder will continuously record the last dozens of hours; this function is useful for security purposes. In case of unexpected event, you can playback the previously recorded audio. In a sunny day, the solar battery can provide a charging current of up to 12 mA. If you expose the battery to sunshine for 10 hours, it will have enough to fully charge the recorder’s rechargeable battery. In black box mode, it is recommended to use the VAS (Voice Activating System) and the loop recording modes. About 2 hours of sun light a day is enough to recharge the recorder’s rechargeable battery. In VAS mode, the rechargeable battery provides 7 days of power supply for the recorder that allows skipping the days without sunshine.

The recorder can be connected to PC via USB port with the supplied cable.

The supplied software makes it possible:

    * to save the recorded messages as standard sound files;
    * to set the recorder parameters;
    * to use the recorder as a flash-disc of 2-8 GB, as well as to store and transfer files;
    * there is an opportunity to update the recorder firmware using the software.

- Simplified functionality (recording only, the recorder does not have a headphones' connector, to play the recordings back you need a computer) and a one control button, the recorder's LED indicates recorder's operating modes;

- Long recording duration (from 300 to 1,200 hours depending on memory capacity);

- Password protection (to secure the data, a password may be set in the DVR, which prevents another user from unauthorized access to the DVR content and settings);

- Voice Activation System (which effectively compresses pauses in messages, therefore increasing the actual record time. Using this system saves memory during pauses, but the time intervals remain. When downloading records to PC, the pause length can be either restored (as silence) or passed depending on the settings made.);
